Luanda, ANGOLA, November 20 – A new Identity Document (I.D) cards for Angolan citizens, whose validity period is of ten years, starts to be issued this Monday, November 20, ANGOP has learnt.
According to the national director for Civil Identification and Criminal Records, Felismina Gandu da Silva, at a press conference held last Friday, the new I.D document has had its security aspects improved.
The new I.D, she explained, also brings a microchip that can store extra information on the individual for posterior integration in the main information section of the document if necessary.
She went on to explain that the new I.D will be introduced to the public gradually until the end of January 2018, period in which all the identification card issue posts should have all conditions set to produce such document.
She explained also that her institution is also committed to reducing the time the citizens wait to receive the document.
