Decree on crossing border by foreigners on biometric passport came into force in Ukraine

Kyiv: The decree on the crossing of the state border of Ukraine by foreigners only on the biometric passport since 2018 has come into force today. It was published in the newspaper “Government Courier”.

Today, the decree signed by the President of Ukraine on the introduction of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the introduction of biometric control for foreigners entering Ukraine from January 1, 2018, came into force.

Now the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for a month should take measures to improve the legislation on the order of stay in Ukraine for foreigners, including citizens of the Russian Federation.

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the decision of the Russian National Liberation Army to cross the border of Ukraine to Russians and other foreigners with only a biometric passport from 2018.
