By | March 1, 2016

Norwegian biometric on-card security startup Zwipe has announced the appointment of a new CFO.

Lisbeth Breum from private equity firm Herkules Capital will succeed Steffen Larsen, who takes up the position as Senior Vice President of Products. Breum begins in her new role 1 March 2016.

“I am excited to join Zwipe at this pivotal time in the company’s development”, says Breum. “Zwipe is at the center of the quickly evolving biometric industry, and I look forward to taking part in this talented team’s journey towards the next chapter”.

Zwipe has developed a biometric system that fits into a standard credit card and operates without a battery. The Zwipe payment card has undergone pilots and tests performed by leading banks, and Danske Bank plans to roll out Zwipe biometric credit card this year.

Zwipe has also launced projects in biometrics credentials for the fast growing Access Control industry with its Zwipe Access and Zwipe ID products.

“As the first official employee of Zwipe, Steffen has played a crucial role in bringing Zwipe to where we are today and he will continue to be a key asset for the company of Zwipe,” said Kim Kristian Humborstad, Founder and CEO of Zwipe. “As we continue to expand both our organization and product offerings, it made sense for Steffen to transfer his skills and knowledge to lead our growing products division.”

“We are very pleased about the latest additions to our team as they represent key areas of expertise needed to scale the company,” continued Humborstad. “We are also excited to have Lisbeth on board as CFO as her experience in finance, investor relations and financial analysis is perfectly suited for our strategy, including our plans for aggressive growth and expansion. We welcome Lisbeth to the team.”
