Telstra launches eSIM service for wearables

By | September 26, 2017

Telstra has introduced its ‘One Number’ service designed to connect wearable devices directly to the operator’s mobile network, also extending Telstra customers’ smartphone mobile number to the device. This new embedded SIM card means Telstra customers will soon be able to make and receive phone calls, and check and send text messages, from their compatible wearable device without having their smartphone with them.

Once a wearable and a mobile device are successfully synced and connected to the Telstra network, both devices will share a customer’s mobile plan inclusions such as calls, text and data. The Telstra One Number product will be available on a range of upcoming devices over the next 12 months.
