Germany’s DM Introduces Contactless Payment

By | May 12, 2017

German drugstore chain DM has introduced contactless payment services in all of its 1,856 branches in Germany.

The technology allows for payment of transactions under €25 to be completed quickly without authorisation, by tapping the customer’s contactless card on the terminal at the checkout.

Benefits

The retailer says that the aim of this service is to make payment processes quick and easy for customers, while retaining safety standards.

“Many customers have long used the option of cashless payment. The contactless payment is the next step to make the shopping experience even more comfortable,” said Erich Harsch, chairman of DM management.

“Taking advantage of the opportunities offered by digitisation and actively shaping the future of trade is a core concern of Germany’s most popular drugstore market.”
