WETMORE RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF OTTAWA’S MOST ACCOMPLISHED BUSINESS LEADERS FOR GROWING ENTRUST DATACARD’S SOFTWARE PORTFOLIO
MINNEAPOLIS—(May 2, 2017)—Entrust Datacard, a leading provider of trusted identity and secure transaction technology solutions, today announced that Greg Wetmore has been honored by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Business Journal as one of the city’s most accomplished business leaders under the age of 40. Wetmore is the vice president of software development for Entrust Datacard and the site leader of the Ottawa office, where he oversees 350 employees.
“I’m honored to be in the company of Ottawa’s top business leaders who are pushing innovation and excellence in the region,” said Wetmore. “This award also reinforces Entrust Datacard’s position as a top security software provider in Ottawa and around the world, and I’m proud to be part of a team of the industry’s best minds.”
Since joining the company in 2000, Wetmore has profoundly restructured how software is sold at Entrust Datacard, improved the product and software portfolios, grown the company’s size and revenue, and successfully led numerous acquisition and integration processes. He currently manages a large globally distributed team of software development professionals and delivers software solutions across three major portfolio areas: Authentication, PKI and SSL.
“Greg has played a key role in shaping Entrust Datacard’s future” said Todd Wilkinson, president and chief executive officer for Entrust Datacard. “In addition to helping to double the headcount in our Ottawa office in three years, he launched our Software-as-a-Service offering which is now one of our fastest growing products. His knowledge and leadership have been crucial to our company. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.”
Wetmore’s accomplishments and tenure have also earned him various awards within the organization, including the CEO Innovation Excellence Award in 2010, the CEO Operational Excellence Award in 2011 and the Entrust Datacard Outstanding Leader Award in 2015. Outside of the office, Wetmore is a passionate hockey coach, volunteering with the Nepean Girls Hockey Association and the Nepean Minor Hockey Association.
On June 16, Wetmore and fellow award recipients will be celebrated at a gala at the Hilton Lac-Leamy. To see the full Ottawa Forty Under 40 list, visit http://www.ottawachamber.ca/news/details/announcing-the-2017-forty-under-40-recipients.
